King James BibleChristian Standard Bible
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.1Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.2Let Israel celebrate its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.3Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and lyre.
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.4For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.5Let the faithful celebrate in triumphal glory; let them shout for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;6Let the exaltation of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;7inflicting vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;8binding their kings with chains and their dignitaries with iron shackles,
To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.9carrying out the judgment decreed against them. This honor is for all his faithful people. Hallelujah!
