Psalm 147
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.1Hallelujah! It is good to sing praise to our God, and it is fitting to sing glorious praise.
The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.2The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem; he gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.3He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their injuries.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.4He keeps track of the number of stars, assigning names to all of them.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.5Our Lord is great, and rich in power; his understanding has no limitation.
The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.6The LORD supports the afflicted while he casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving, and compose music to our God with the lyre.
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.8He shields the heavens with clouds, preparing rain for the earth and making grass grow on the hills.
He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.9He gives wild animals their food, including the young ravens when they cry.
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.10He takes no delight in the strength of a horse, and gains no pleasure in the runner's swiftness.
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.11But the LORD is pleased with those who fear him, with those who depend on his gracious love.
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.12Glorify the LORD, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!
For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.13For he has strengthened the bars of your gates, blessing your children within you.
He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.14He grants peace within your borders, satisfying you with the finest of wheat.
He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.15He sends out his command to the earth, making his word go forth quickly.
He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.16He supplies snow like wool, scattering frost like ashes.
He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?17He casts down his ice crystals like bread fragments. Who can endure his freezing cold?
He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.18He sends out his word and melts them. He makes his wind blow and the water flows.
He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.19He declares his words to Jacob, his statutes and decrees to Israel.
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.20He has not dealt with any other nation like this; they never knew his decrees. Hallelujah!
