King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,1God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;3And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.4having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?5For to which of the angels did He ever say, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU"? And again, "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"?
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.6And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM."
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.7And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE."
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.8But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.9"YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS."
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:10And, "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;
They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;11THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT,
And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.12AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP; LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END."
But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?13But to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET "?
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
