| 3But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. | 3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. |
| 4I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. | 4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude |
| 5I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. | 5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me. |

| 7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. | 7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! |
