Galatians 5
NASB Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.
Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.2Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.
And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law.3Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.
You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.4You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.5But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the hope of righteousness.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.
You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?7You were running so well. Who has obstructed you from obeying the truth?
This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you.8Such persuasion does not come from the One who calls you.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.9A little leaven works through the whole batch of dough.
I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.10I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.
But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished.11Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves.12As for those who are agitating you, I wish they would proceed to emasculate themselves!
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.13For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."14The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.15But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery;
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,20idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions,
envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.25Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.
Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.
