Galatians 5
NASB Parallel GRK [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995Greek Study Bible
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.1Τῇ ἐλευθερίᾳ ἡμᾶς Χριστὸς ἠλευθέρωσεν στήκετε οὖν καὶ μὴ πάλιν ζυγῷ δουλείας ἐνέχεσθε
Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.2Ἴδε ἐγὼ Παῦλος λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν περιτέμνησθε Χριστὸς ὑμᾶς οὐδὲν ὠφελήσει
And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law.3μαρτύρομαι δὲ πάλιν παντὶ ἀνθρώπῳ περιτεμνομένῳ ὅτι ὀφειλέτης ἐστὶν ὅλον τὸν νόμον ποιῆσαι
You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.4κατηργήθητε ἀπὸ Χριστοῦ οἵτινες ἐν νόμῳ δικαιοῦσθε τῆς χάριτος ἐξεπέσατε
For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.5Ἡμεῖς γὰρ Πνεύματι ἐκ πίστεως ἐλπίδα δικαιοσύνης ἀπεκδεχόμεθα
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.6ἐν γὰρ Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ οὔτε περιτομή τι ἰσχύει οὔτε ἀκροβυστία ἀλλὰ πίστις δι’ ἀγάπης ἐνεργουμένη
You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?7Ἐτρέχετε καλῶς τίς ὑμᾶς ἐνέκοψεν ‹τῇ› ἀληθείᾳ μὴ πείθεσθαι
This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you.8 πεισμονὴ οὐκ ἐκ τοῦ καλοῦντος ὑμᾶς
A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.9μικρὰ ζύμη ὅλον τὸ φύραμα ζυμοῖ
I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.10ἐγὼ πέποιθα εἰς ὑμᾶς ἐν Κυρίῳ ὅτι οὐδὲν ἄλλο φρονήσετε δὲ ταράσσων ὑμᾶς βαστάσει τὸ κρίμα ὅστις ἐὰν
But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished.11Ἐγὼ δέ ἀδελφοί εἰ περιτομὴν ἔτι κηρύσσω τί ἔτι διώκομαι ἄρα κατήργηται τὸ σκάνδαλον τοῦ σταυροῦ
I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves.12Ὄφελον καὶ ἀποκόψονται οἱ ἀναστατοῦντες ὑμᾶς
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.13Ὑμεῖς γὰρ ἐπ’ ἐλευθερίᾳ ἐκλήθητε ἀδελφοί μόνον μὴ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν εἰς ἀφορμὴν τῇ σαρκί ἀλλὰ διὰ τῆς ἀγάπης δουλεύετε ἀλλήλοις
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."14 γὰρ πᾶς νόμος ἐν ἑνὶ λόγῳ πεπλήρωται ἐν τῷ Ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν
But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.15εἰ δὲ ἀλλήλους δάκνετε καὶ κατεσθίετε βλέπετε μὴ ὑπ’ ἀλλήλων ἀναλωθῆτε
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.16Λέγω δέ Πνεύματι περιπατεῖτε καὶ ἐπιθυμίαν σαρκὸς οὐ μὴ τελέσητε
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.17 γὰρ σὰρξ ἐπιθυμεῖ κατὰ τοῦ Πνεύματος τὸ δὲ Πνεῦμα κατὰ τῆς σαρκός ταῦτα γὰρ ἀλλήλοις ἀντίκειται ἵνα μὴ ἐὰν θέλητε ταῦτα ποιῆτε
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.18εἰ δὲ Πνεύματι ἄγεσθε οὐκ ἐστὲ ὑπὸ νόμον
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,19Φανερὰ δέ ἐστιν τὰ ἔργα τῆς σαρκός ἅτινά ἐστιν πορνεία ἀκαθαρσία ἀσέλγεια
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,20εἰδωλολατρία φαρμακεία ἔχθραι ἔρις ζῆλος θυμοί ἐριθεῖαι διχοστασίαι αἱρέσεις
envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.21φθόνοι μέθαι κῶμοι καὶ τὰ ὅμοια τούτοις προλέγω ὑμῖν καθὼς προεῖπον ὅτι οἱ τὰ τοιαῦτα πράσσοντες βασιλείαν Θεοῦ οὐ κληρονομήσουσιν
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,22 δὲ καρπὸς τοῦ Πνεύματός ἐστιν ἀγάπη χαρά εἰρήνη μακροθυμία χρηστότης ἀγαθωσύνη πίστις
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.23πραΰτης ἐγκράτεια κατὰ τῶν τοιούτων οὐκ ἔστιν νόμος
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.24Οἱ δὲ τοῦ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τὴν σάρκα ἐσταύρωσαν σὺν τοῖς παθήμασιν καὶ ταῖς ἐπιθυμίαις
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.25Εἰ ζῶμεν Πνεύματι Πνεύματι καὶ στοιχῶμεν
Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.26μὴ γινώμεθα κενόδοξοι ἀλλήλους προκαλούμενοι ἀλλήλοις φθονοῦντες
