Ephesians 3
NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles--1For this reason I, Paul, am the prisoner of the Messiah Jesus for the sake of you gentiles.
if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace which was given to me for you;2Surely you have heard about the responsibility of administering God's grace that was given to me on your behalf,
that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief.3and how this secret was made known to me through a revelation, just as I wrote about briefly in the past.
By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,4By reading this, you will be able to grasp my understanding of the secret about the Messiah,
which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;5which in previous generations was not made known to human beings as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets. This is that secret:
to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,6The gentiles are heirs-in-common, members-in-common of the body, and common participants in what was promised by the Messiah Jesus through the gospel.
of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God's grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.7I have become a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God's grace that was given me by the working of his power.
To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,8To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given so that I might proclaim to the gentiles the immeasurable wealth of the Messiah
and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;9and help everyone see how this secret that has been at work was hidden for ages by God, who created all things.
so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.10He did this so that now, through the church, the wisdom of God in all its variety might be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm
This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,11in keeping with the eternal purpose that God carried out through the Messiah Jesus our Lord,
in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.12in whom we have boldness and confident access through his faithfulness.
Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory.13So then, I ask you not to become discouraged because of my troubles on your behalf, which work toward your glory.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,14This is the reason I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,15from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name.
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,16I pray that he would give you, according to his glorious riches, strength in your inner being and power through his Spirit,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,17and that the Messiah would make his home in your hearts through faith. Then, having been rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,18you will be able to understand, along with all the saints, what is wide, long, high, and deep—
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.19that is, you will know the love of the Messiah — which transcends knowledge, and will be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,20Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us—
to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.21to him be glory in the church and in the Messiah Jesus to all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
