NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
1A Song of Ascents. In my trouble I cried to the LORD, And He answered me.1A song of ascents. In my distress I cried out to the LORD and he answered me.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.2I said, "O LORD, rescue me from those who lie with their lips and those who deceive with their tongue.
3What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, You deceitful tongue?3How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker?
4Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the burning coals of the broom tree.4Here's how! With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals.
5Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, For I dwell among the tents of Kedar!5How miserable I am! For I have lived temporarily in Meshech; I have resided among the tents of Kedar.
6Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who hate peace.6For too long I have had to reside with those who hate peace.
7I am for peace, but when I speak, They are for war.7I am committed to peace, but when I speak, they want to make war.
