Psalm 14
NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.1For the music director; by David. Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right.
2The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.2The LORD looks down from heaven at the human race, to see if there is anyone who is wise and seeks God.
3They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.3Everyone rejects God; they are all morally corrupt. None of them does what is right, not even one!
4Do all the workers of wickedness not know, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon the Lord?4All those who behave wickedly do not understand--those who devour my people as if they were eating bread, and do not call out to the LORD.
5There they are in great dread, For God is with the righteous generation.5They are absolutely terrified, for God defends the godly.
6You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, But the LORD is his refuge.6You want to humiliate the oppressed, even though the LORD is their shelter.
7Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.7I wish the deliverance of Israel would come from Zion! When the LORD restores the well-being of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be happy!
