NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.1Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
So I said, "Where are you going?" And he said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is."2I asked, "Where are you going?" He answered me, "To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is."
And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him,3While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him
and said to him, "Run, speak to that young man, saying, 'Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls because of the multitude of men and cattle within it.4and said to him: "Run, tell that young man, 'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it.
'For I,' declares the LORD, 'will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.'"5And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,' declares the LORD, 'and I will be its glory within.'
"Ho there! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens," declares the LORD.6"Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven," declares the LORD.
"Ho, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon."7"Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!"
For thus says the LORD of hosts, "After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.8For this is what the LORD Almighty says: "After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you--for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye--
"For behold, I will wave My hand over them so that they will be plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me.9I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me.
"Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," declares the LORD.10"Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the LORD.
"Many nations will join themselves to the LORD in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.11"Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.
"The LORD will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.12The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.
"Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused from His holy habitation."13Be still before the LORD, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."
