| 2It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food. Yes, he can provide for those whom he loves even when they sleep. | 2In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food-- yes, He gives sleep to the one He loves. |
| 3Yes, sons are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. | 3Sons are indeed a heritage from the LORD, children, a reward. |
