Psalm 147
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate! 1Hallelujah! It is good to sing praise to our God, and it is fitting to sing glorious praise.
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. 2The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem; he gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds. 3He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their injuries.
He counts the number of the stars; he names all of them. 4He keeps track of the number of stars, assigning names to all of them.
Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom. 5Our Lord is great, and rich in power; his understanding has no limitation.
The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground. 6The LORD supports the afflicted while he casts the wicked to the ground.
Offer to the LORD a song of thanks! Sing praises to our God to the accompaniment of a harp! 7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving, and compose music to our God with the lyre.
He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. 8He shields the heavens with clouds, preparing rain for the earth and making grass grow on the hills.
He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. 9He gives wild animals their food, including the young ravens when they cry.
He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs. 10He takes no delight in the strength of a horse, and gains no pleasure in the runner's swiftness.
The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love. 11But the LORD is pleased with those who fear him, with those who depend on his gracious love.
Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 12Glorify the LORD, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!
For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children within you. 13For he has strengthened the bars of your gates, blessing your children within you.
He brings peace to your territory. He abundantly provides for you the best grain. 14He grants peace within your borders, satisfying you with the finest of wheat.
He sends his command through the earth; swiftly his order reaches its destination. 15He sends out his command to the earth, making his word go forth quickly.
He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes. 16He supplies snow like wool, scattering frost like ashes.
He throws his hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? 17He casts down his ice crystals like bread fragments. Who can endure his freezing cold?
He then orders it all to melt; he breathes on it, and the water flows. 18He sends out his word and melts them. He makes his wind blow and the water flows.
He proclaims his word to Jacob, his statutes and regulations to Israel. 19He declares his words to Jacob, his statutes and decrees to Israel.
He has not done so with any other nation; they are not aware of his regulations. Praise the LORD! 20He has not dealt with any other nation like this; they never knew his decrees. Hallelujah!
