Psalm 52
NET Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
1For the music director; a well-written song by David. It was written when Doeg the Edomite went and informed Saul: "David has arrived at the home of Ahimelech." Why do you boast about your evil plans, O powerful man? God's loyal love protects me all day long! 1For the choir director. A Maskil of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endures all day long.
2Your tongue carries out your destructive plans; it is as effective as a sharp razor, O deceiver. 2Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, O worker of deceit.
3You love evil more than good, lies more than speaking the truth. (Selah) 3You love evil more than good, Falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah.
4You love to use all the words that destroy, and the tongue that deceives. 4You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
5Yet God will make you a permanent heap of ruins. He will scoop you up and remove you from your home; he will uproot you from the land of the living. (Selah) 5But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.
6When the godly see this, they will be filled with awe, and will mock the evildoer, saying: 6The righteous will see and fear, And will laugh at him, saying,
7"Look, here is the man who would not make God his protector! He trusted in his great wealth and was confident about his plans to destroy others." 7"Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire."
8But I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God; I continually trust in God's loyal love. 8But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.
9I will continually thank you when you execute judgment; I will rely on you, for your loyal followers know you are good. 9I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.
