Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too.1Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.2Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.3If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else.4Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.
For each one will carry his own load. 5For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it.6Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows,7Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.
because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.8Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.9So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. 10Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Paul’s Final Advice
See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand! 11 Notice what large letters I use as I write these closing words in my own handwriting.
Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.12Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save.
For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh.13And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.
But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.14As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.
For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation!15It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.
And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. 16May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. 17From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. 18Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
