And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.1Καὶ εἶδον ἄγγελον καταβαίνοντα ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἔχοντα τὴν κλεῖν τῆς ἀβύσσου καὶ ἅλυσιν μεγάλην ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ
He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.2καὶ ἐκράτησεν τὸν δράκοντα ὄφις ἀρχαῖος ὅς ἐστιν Διάβολος καὶ Σατανᾶς καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν χίλια ἔτη
He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.3καὶ ἔβαλεν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν ἄβυσσον καὶ ἔκλεισεν καὶ ἐσφράγισεν ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ ἵνα μὴ πλανήσῃ ἔτι τὰ ἔθνη ἄχρι τελεσθῇ τὰ χίλια ἔτη μετὰ ταῦτα δεῖ λυθῆναι αὐτὸν μικρὸν χρόνον
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.4‹Καὶ εἶδον θρόνους καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐπ’ αὐτούς καὶ κρίμα ἐδόθη αὐτοῖς καὶ τὰς ψυχὰς τῶν πεπελεκισμένων διὰ τὴν μαρτυρίαν Ἰησοῦ καὶ διὰ τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ οἵτινες οὐ προσεκύνησαν τὸ θηρίον οὐδὲ τὴν εἰκόνα αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔλαβον τὸ χάραγμα ἐπὶ τὸ μέτωπον καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτῶν καὶ ἔζησαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν μετὰ τοῦ χριστοῦ χίλια ἔτη›
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.5Οἱ λοιποὶ τῶν νεκρῶν οὐκ ἔζησαν ἄχρι τελεσθῇ τὰ χίλια ἔτη αὕτη ἀνάστασις πρώτη
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.6μακάριος καὶ ἅγιος ἔχων μέρος ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῇ πρώτῃ ἐπὶ τούτων δεύτερος θάνατος οὐκ ἔχει ἐξουσίαν ἀλλ’ ἔσονται ἱερεῖς τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ Χριστοῦ καὶ βασιλεύσουσιν μετ’ αὐτοῦ τὰ χίλια ἔτη
When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison7Καὶ ὅταν τελεσθῇ τὰ χίλια ἔτη λυθήσεται Σατανᾶς ἐκ τῆς φυλακῆς αὐτοῦ
and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.8καὶ ἐξελεύσεται πλανῆσαι τὰ ἔθνη τὰ ἐν ταῖς τέσσαρσιν γωνίαις τῆς γῆς τὸν Γὼγ καὶ Μαγώγ συναγαγεῖν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν πόλεμον ὧν ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν ὡς ἄμμος τῆς θαλάσσης
They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.9Καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκύκλευσαν τὴν παρεμβολὴν τῶν ἁγίων καὶ τὴν πόλιν τὴν ἠγαπημένην καὶ κατέβη πῦρ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτούς
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.10καὶ διάβολος πλανῶν αὐτοὺς ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν λίμνην τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ θείου ὅπου καὶ τὸ θηρίον καὶ ψευδοπροφήτης καὶ βασανισθήσονται ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.11Καὶ εἶδον θρόνον μέγαν λευκὸν καὶ τὸν καθήμενον ἐπ’ αὐτόν οὗ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου ἔφυγεν γῆ καὶ οὐρανός καὶ τόπος οὐχ εὑρέθη αὐτοῖς
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.12καὶ εἶδον τοὺς νεκρούς τοὺς μεγάλους καὶ τοὺς μικρούς ἑστῶτας ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου καὶ βιβλία ἠνοίχθησαν Καὶ ἄλλο βιβλίον ἠνοίχθη ἐστιν τῆς ζωῆς καὶ ἐκρίθησαν οἱ νεκροὶ ἐκ τῶν γεγραμμένων ἐν τοῖς βιβλίοις κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.13καὶ ἔδωκεν θάλασσα τοὺς νεκροὺς τοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ θάνατος καὶ ᾅδης ἔδωκαν τοὺς νεκροὺς τοὺς ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐκρίθησαν ἕκαστος κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.14Καὶ θάνατος καὶ ᾅδης ἐβλήθησαν εἰς τὴν λίμνην τοῦ πυρός οὗτος θάνατος δεύτερός ἐστιν λίμνη τοῦ πυρός
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.15καὶ εἴ τις οὐχ εὑρέθη ἐν τῇ βίβλῳ τῆς ζωῆς γεγραμμένος ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν λίμνην τοῦ πυρός
