New International VersionInternational Standard Version
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his gracious love is eternal.
Let Israel say: "His love endures forever."2Let Israel now say, "His gracious love is eternal."
Let the house of Aaron say: "His love endures forever."3Let the house of Aaron now say, "His gracious love is eternal."
Let those who fear the LORD say: "His love endures forever."4Let those who fear the LORD now say, "His gracious love is eternal."
When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place.5I called on the LORD in my distress; the LORD answered me openly.
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?6The LORD is with me. I will not be afraid. What can people do to me?
The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.7With the LORD beside me as my helper, I will triumph over those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans.8It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in people.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.9It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in princes.
All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD I cut them down.10All the nations surrounded me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them.
They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the LORD I cut them down.11They surrounded me, they are around me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them.
They swarmed around me like bees, but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them down.12They surrounded me like bees; but they will be extinguished like burning thorns. In the name of the LORD I will defeat them.
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me.13Indeed, you oppressed me so much that I nearly fell, but the LORD helped me.
The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.14The LORD is my strength and protector, for he has become my deliverer.
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The LORD's right hand has done mighty things!15There's exultation for deliverance in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the LORD is victorious!
The LORD's right hand is lifted high; the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!"16The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD is victorious!"
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.17I will not die, but I will live to recount the deeds of the LORD.
The LORD has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.18The LORD will discipline me severely, but he won't hand me over to die.
Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD.19Open for me the righteous gates so I may enter through them to give thanks to the LORD.
This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter.20This is the LORD's gate— The righteous will enter through it.
I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.21I will praise you because you have answered me and have become my deliverer.
The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;22The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.23This is from the LORD— it is awesome in our sight.
The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.24This is the day that the LORD has made; let's rejoice and be glad in it.
LORD, save us! LORD, grant us success!25Please LORD, deliver us! Please LORD, hurry and bring success now!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.26Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Let us bless you from the LORD's house.
The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine on us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar.27The LORD is God—he will be our light! Bind the festival sacrifice with ropes to the horn at the altar.
You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you.28You are my God, and I will praise you; my God, and I will exalt you.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.29Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his gracious love is eternal.
