NIV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you."1Then He said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet that I may speak with you!"
As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.2As He spoke to me the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet; and I heard Him speaking to me.
He said: "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to this very day.3Then He said to me, "Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to a rebellious people who have rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day.
The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.'4"I am sending you to them who are stubborn and obstinate children, and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD.'
And whether they listen or fail to listen--for they are a rebellious people--they will know that a prophet has been among them.5"As for them, whether they listen or not-- for they are a rebellious house-- they will know that a prophet has been among them.
And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.6"And you, son of man, neither fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; neither fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, for they are a rebellious house.
You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.7"But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.
But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious people; open your mouth and eat what I give you."8"Now you, son of man, listen to what I am speaking to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you."
Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll,9Then I looked, and behold, a hand was extended to me; and lo, a scroll was in it.
which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe.10When He spread it out before me, it was written on the front and back, and written on it were lamentations, mourning and woe.
