New International VersionNET Bible
Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song! Praise him in the assembly of the godly!
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.2Let Israel rejoice in their Creator! Let the people of Zion delight in their king!
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.3Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp!
For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them.
Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.5Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! Let them shout for joy upon their beds!
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,6May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand,
to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,7in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners.
to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,8They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles,
to carry out the sentence written against them-- this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.9and execute the judgment to which their enemies have been sentenced. All his loyal followers will be vindicated. Praise the LORD!
