Psalm 16
NIV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew Living Translation
1A miktam of David. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.1Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.
2I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."2I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.”
3I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight."3The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them!
4Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.4Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods. I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood or even speak the names of their gods.
5LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.5LORD, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.
6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.6The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!
7I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.7I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.
8I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.8I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
9Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,9No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.
10because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.10For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
11You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.11You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
