| 1A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! | 1O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me. |

| 3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. | 3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. |

| 5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. | 5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me. |
