Psalm 123
NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
1A Song of Ascents. Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.1To you, who sit enthroned in heaven, I lift up my eyes.
2Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.2Consider this: as the eyes of a servant focus on what his master provides, and as the eyes of a female servant focus on what her mistress provides, so our eyes focus on the LORD our God, until he has mercy on us.
3Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.3Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had more than enough of contempt.
4Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.4Our lives overflow with scorn from those who live at ease, with contempt from those who are proud.
