NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
A Song of Ascents. Of David. “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,” Let Israel now say—1If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel now say—
“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, When men rose up against us,2if the LORD had not been on our side, when men came against us,
Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;3then they would have devoured us alive, when their anger burned against us.
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;4Then the flood waters would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have flooded over us;
Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.”5the swollen waters would have swept us away.
Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.6Blessed be the LORD, who did not give us as prey to their teeth.
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped.7We have escaped like a bird from the hunter's trap. The trap has been broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.8Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.
