A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!1By David. Praise the LORD, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:2Praise the LORD, O my soul! Do not forget all his kind deeds!
Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,3He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,4who delivers your life from the Pit, who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.5who satisfies your life with good things, so your youth is renewed like an eagle's.
The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.6The LORD does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.7The LORD revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites.
The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.8The LORD is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.
He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.9He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.10He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;11For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers.
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.12As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us.
As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.13As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers.
For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.14For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay.
As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.15A person's life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes,
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more.16but when the hot wind blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,17But the LORD continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,
To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.18to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands.
The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.19The LORD has established his throne in heaven; his kingdom extends over everything.
Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.20Praise the LORD, you angels of his, you powerful warriors who carry out his decrees and obey his orders!
Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.21Praise the LORD, all you warriors of his, you servants of his who carry out his desires!
Bless the LORD, all His works, In all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!22Praise the LORD, all that he has made, in all the regions of his kingdom! Praise the LORD, O my soul!
