Psalm 122
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”1I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
2Our feet have been standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem!2And now here we are, standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem.
3Jerusalem is built As a city that is compact together,3Jerusalem is a well-built city; its seamless walls cannot be breached.
4Where the tribes go up, The tribes of the LORD, To the Testimony of Israel, To give thanks to the name of the LORD.4All the tribes of Israel—the LORD’s people— make their pilgrimage here. They come to give thanks to the name of the LORD, as the law requires of Israel.
5For thrones are set there for judgment, The thrones of the house of David.5Here stand the thrones where judgment is given, the thrones of the dynasty of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.6Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.
7Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.”7O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.
8For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”8For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.”
9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.
