Psalm 28
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1A Psalm of David. To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.1I pray to you, O LORD, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.
2Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.2Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.
3Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts.3Do not drag me away with the wicked— with those who do evil— those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.
4Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve.4Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for all their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they have done to others.
5Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up.5They care nothing for what the LORD has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt!
6Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications!6Praise the LORD! For he has heard my cry for mercy.
7The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.7The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
8The LORD is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.8The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.
9Save Your people, And bless Your inheritance; Shepherd them also, And bear them up forever.9Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
