Psalm 82
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1A Psalm of Asaph. God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods.1God presides over heaven’s court; he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings:
2How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Selah2“How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Interlude
3Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.3“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
4Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.4Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.
5They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.5But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core.
6I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High.6I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.
7But you shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.”7But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”
8Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations.8Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.
