Psalm 28
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
1I pray to you, O LORD, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.1To you, O LORD, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.2Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary.
3Do not drag me away with the wicked— with those who do evil— those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.3Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts.
4Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for all their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they have done to others.4Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.
5They care nothing for what the LORD has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt!5Because they do not regard the works of the LORD or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and build them up no more.
6Praise the LORD! For he has heard my cry for mercy.6Blessed be the LORD! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
7The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.7The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
8The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.8The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
9Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.9Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever.
