1The four sons of Issachar were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.1The four descendants of Issachar included Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel. Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. At the time of King David, the total number of mighty warriors listed in the records of these clans was 22,600.2Tola's descendants included Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, leaders of their ancestral house of Tola, who were valiant warriors during their lifetimes. During the life of David, they numbered 22,600.
3The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. These five became the leaders of clans.3Uzzi fathered Izrahiah, and Izrahiah fathered Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah, all five of them leaders.
4All of them had many wives and many sons, so the total number of men available for military service among their descendants was 36,000.4In addition to them, according to their ancestral records were 36,000 members of their trained army by their generations, because they had many wives and children.
5The total number of mighty warriors from all the clans of the tribe of Issachar was 87,000. All of them were listed in their genealogical records. Descendants of Benjamin5As recorded in their genealogy, a total of 87,000 trained warriors belonged to all of the clans of Issachar.
6Three of Benjamin’s sons were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.6Benjamin's three descendants included Bela, Becher, and Jediael.
7The five sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. The total number of mighty warriors from these clans was 22,034, as listed in their genealogical records.7Bela's five descendants included Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri, who were leaders of their ancestral households. Valiant warriors, their enrollment totaled 22,034 according to their genealogies.
8The sons of Beker were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.8Becher's descendants included Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these were descendants of Becher,
9Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. The total number of mighty warriors and leaders from these clans was 20,200, as listed in their genealogical records.9and their genealogical enrollment totaled 20,200 valiant warriors, delineated according to their generations as leaders of their ancestral households.
10The son of Jediael was Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.10Jediael fathered Bilhan, and Bilhan's descendants included Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. From these clans the total number of mighty warriors ready for war was 17,200.11All these were descendants through Jediael according to the heads of their ancestral households. Their valiant warriors totaled 17,200 equipped and ready for battle.
12The sons of Ir were Shuppim and Huppim. Hushim was the son of Aher. Descendants of Naphtali12In addition, Shuppim and Huppim were the sons of Ir, and the Hushites were descended from Aher.
13The sons of Naphtali were Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of Jacob’s concubine Bilhah. Descendants of Manasseh13Naphtali's descendants included Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum, descended through Bilhah.
14The descendants of Manasseh through his Aramean concubine included Asriel. She also bore Makir, the father of Gilead.14Manasseh's descendants included Asriel, whom his Aramean mistress bore, along with Machir, who fathered Gilead.
15Makir found wives for Huppim and Shuppim. Makir had a sister named Maacah. One of his descendants was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.15Machir chose wives for his sons Huppim and for Shuppim. He had a sister named Maacah. His second son was named Zelophehad, and Zelophehad fathered only daughters.
16Makir’s wife, Maacah, gave birth to a son whom she named Peresh. His brother’s name was Sheresh. The sons of Peresh were Ulam and Rakem.16Machir's wife Maacah bore a son whom she named Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rekem.
17The son of Ulam was Bedan. All these were considered Gileadites, descendants of Makir son of Manasseh.17Ulam's son was Bedan. These were the children of Machir's son Gilead, who was also a descendant of Manasseh.
18Makir’s sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.18His sister Hammolecheth bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam. Descendants of Ephraim19Shemida's sons included Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20The descendants of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered, Tahath, Eleadah, Tahath,20Ephraim's descendants included Shuthelah, his son Bered, his son Tahath, his son Eleadah, his son Tahath,
21Zabad, Shuthelah, Ezer, and Elead. These two were killed trying to steal livestock from the local farmers near Gath.21his son Zabad, his son Shuthelah, his son Ezer, and Elead. The people of Gath, who were native to the land, killed them when they came down to raid their cattle.
22Their father, Ephraim, mourned for them a long time, and his relatives came to comfort him.22So their father Ephraim mourned many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.
23Afterward Ephraim slept with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah because of the tragedy his family had suffered.23Later, Ephraim had marital relations with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to a son, whom he named Beriah, because his household had been visited with disaster.
24He had a daughter named Sheerah. She built the towns of Lower and Upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah.24His daughter Sheerah built both Lower and Upper Beth-horon, along with Uzzen-sheerah.
25The descendants of Ephraim included Rephah, Resheph, Telah, Tahan,25Rephah was also his descendant, as were Resheph, Telah, Tahan,
26Ladan, Ammihud, Elishama,26Ladan, Ammihud, Elishama,
27Nun, and Joshua.27Nun, and Joshua.
28The descendants of Ephraim lived in the territory that included Bethel and its surrounding towns to the south, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its surrounding villages to the north as far as Ayyah and its towns.28Their possessions and settlements included Bethel and its towns, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its towns to the west, Shechem and its towns as far as Ayyah and its towns
29Along the border of Manasseh were the towns of Beth-shan, Taanach, Megiddo, Dor, and their surrounding villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns. Descendants of Asher29along the borders of the descendants of Manasseh, Beth-shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, Megiddo and its towns, and Dor and its towns. In these lived the descendants of Israel's son Joseph.
30The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. They had a sister named Serah.30Asher's descendants included Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah.
31The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malkiel (the father of Birzaith).31Beriah's descendants included Heber and Malchiel, who fathered Birzaith.
32The sons of Heber were Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. They had a sister named Shua.32Heber fathered Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and their sister Shua.
33The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.33Japhlet's descendants included Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the descendants of Japhlet.
34The sons of Shomer were Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.34Shemer's descendants included Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35The sons of his brother Helem were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.35His brother Helem's descendants included Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36The sons of Zophah were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,36Zophah's descendants included Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,

38The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.38Jether's descendants included Jephunneh, Pispa, and Ara.
39The sons of Ulla were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.39Ulla's descendants included Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40Each of these descendants of Asher was the head of an ancestral clan. They were all select men—mighty warriors and outstanding leaders. The total number of men available for military service was 26,000, as listed in their genealogical records.40All of these were men of Asher, leaders of ancestral households, choice valiant mighty warriors, and chiefs among princes. Their enrolled genealogies for battle conscription totaled 26,000 men.
