| 2The LORD will extend your powerful kingdom from Jerusalem ; you will rule over your enemies. | 2When the LORD extends your mighty scepter from Zion, rule in the midst of your enemies. |
| 3When you go to war, your people will serve you willingly. You are arrayed in holy garments, and your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew. | 3Your soldiers are willing volunteers on your day of battle; in majestic holiness, from the womb, from the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you. |
| 4The LORD has taken an oath and will not break his vow: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” | 4The LORD took an oath and will never recant: "You are a priest forever, after the manner of Melchizedek." |
