Psalm 16
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.1Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.”2O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them!3But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods. I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood or even speak the names of their gods.4Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5LORD, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.5The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!6The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.7I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
