1	Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.	The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had promised. 2	So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.	And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him. 3	And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.	Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac.	And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.	Abraham named his son who was born to him, the son whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.	Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him.
4	When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.	And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.	And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.	Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. 7	She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”	And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”	And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born <i>him</i> a son in his old age.	And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have given birth to a son in his old age.”	And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8	So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.	And the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. 10	and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”	So she said to Abraham, “Cast out this slave woman with her son, for the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.”	Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, <i>even</i> with Isaac.	Therefore she said to Abraham, “Drive out this slave woman and her son, for the son of this slave woman shall not be an heir with my son Isaac!”	and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.”
11	Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.	And the thing was very displeasing to Abraham on account of his son.	And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. 12	But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to everything that Sarah tells you, for through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.	But God said to Abraham, “Be not displeased because of the boy and because of your slave woman. Whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your offspring be named.	And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.	But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed because of the boy and your slave woman; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, for through Isaac your descendants shall be named.	But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.
13	But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”	And I will make a nation of the son of the slave woman also, because he is your offspring.”	And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he <i>is</i> thy seed.	And of the son of the slave woman I will make a nation also, because he is your descendant.”	I will make the son of the slave into a nation also, because he is your offspring.”
14	Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.	So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, along with the child, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.	And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave <i>it</i> unto Hagar, putting <i>it</i> on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. Then she went and sat down opposite him, about a bowshot away, for she said, “May I not see the boy die!” And she sat opposite him, and raised her voice and wept.	Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob.
17	Then God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “What is wrong, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he lies.	And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.	And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he <i>is</i>.	God heard the boy crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. 18	Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”	Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”	Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.	Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him.”	Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19	Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.	Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God <i>is</i> with thee in all that thou doest:	Now it came about at that time that Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do;	At that time Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces said to Abraham, “God is with you in everything you do.
23	Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”	Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my descendants or with my posterity, but as I have dealt kindly with you, so you will deal with me and with the land where you have sojourned.”	Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: <i>but</i> according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.	so now, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my descendants, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have resided.”	Now swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or my descendants. Show to me and the country where you now reside as a foreigner the same kindness I have shown to you.”
24	And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”	And Abraham said, “I will swear.”	And Abraham said, I will swear.	Abraham said, “I swear it.”	Abraham said, “I swear it.”
25	But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,	When Abraham reproved Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech’s servants had seized,	And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.	But Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the well of water which the servants of Abimelech had seized.	Then Abraham complained to Abimelek about a well of water that Abimelek’s servants had seized.
26	Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”	Abimelech said, “I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, and I have not heard of it until today.”	And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I <i>of it</i>, but to day.	And Abimelech said, “I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, nor did I hear of it until today.”	But Abimelek said, “I don’t know who has done this. You did not tell me, and I heard about it only today.”
27	So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.	So Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.	And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.	So Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant.	So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelek, and the two men made a treaty.
28	Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,	Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock apart.	And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.	But Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.	Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs from the flock,
29	and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”	And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs that you have set apart?”	And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What <i>mean</i> these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?	Then Abimelech said to Abraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs mean, which you have set by themselves?”	and Abimelek asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs you have set apart by themselves?”
30	He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”	He said, “These seven ewe lambs you will take from my hand, that this may be a witness for me that I dug this well.”	And he said, For <i>these</i> seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.	He said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand so that it may be a witness for me, that I dug this well.”	He replied, “Accept these seven lambs from my hand as a witness that I dug this well.”
31	So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.	Therefore that place was called Beersheba, because there both of them swore an oath.	Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.	Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because there the two of them took an oath.	So that place was called Beersheba, because the two men swore an oath there.
32	After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.	So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and returned to the land of the Philistines.	Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.	So they made a covenant at Beersheba; and Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.	After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines.
33	And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.	Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.	And <i>Abraham</i> planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.	<i>Abraham</i> planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. 34	And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.	And Abraham sojourned many days in the land of the Philistines.	And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.
