Prayer for Illustration of God's Power

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!1Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence—1Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, That the mountains might quake at Your presence--1Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,1If only You would tear the heavens open and come down, so that mountains would quake at Your presence--
As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you!2as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make your name known to your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at your presence!2As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil-- To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!2As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!2as fire kindles the brushwood, and fire causes water to boil-- to make Your name known to Your enemies, so that nations will tremble at Your presence!
For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.3When you did awesome things that we did not look for, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence.3When You did awesome things which we did not expect, You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.3When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.3When You did awesome works that we did not expect, You came down, and the mountains quaked at Your presence.
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.4From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.4For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, Nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.4For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.4From ancient times no one has heard, no one has listened, no eye has seen any God except You, who acts on behalf of the one who waits for Him.

You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways. But when we continued to sin against them, you were angry. How then can we be saved?5You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?5You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, We continued in them a long time; And shall we be saved?5Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.5You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right; they remember You in Your ways. But we have sinned, and You were angry. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.6We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.6For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.6All of us have become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment; all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.
No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us and have given us over to our sins.7There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities.7There is no one who calls on Your name, Who arouses himself to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us And have delivered us into the power of our iniquities.7And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.7No one calls on Your name, striving to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and made us melt because of our iniquity.
Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.8But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.8But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.8But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.8Yet LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we all are the work of Your hands.
Do not be angry beyond measure, LORD; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all your people.9Be not so terribly angry, O LORD, and remember not iniquity forever. Behold, please look, we are all your people.9Do not be angry beyond measure, O LORD, Nor remember iniquity forever; Behold, look now, all of us are Your people.9Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.9 LORD, do not be terribly angry or remember our iniquity forever. Please look--all of us are Your people!

Your sacred cities have become a wasteland; even Zion is a wasteland, Jerusalem a desolation.10Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.10Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.10Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.10Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
Our holy and glorious temple, where our ancestors praised you, has been burned with fire, and all that we treasured lies in ruins.11Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, has been burned by fire, and all our pleasant places have become ruins.11Our holy and beautiful house, Where our fathers praised You, Has been burned by fire; And all our precious things have become a ruin.11Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.11Our holy and beautiful temple, where our fathers praised You, has been burned with fire, and all that was dear to us lies in ruins.
After all this, LORD, will you hold yourself back? Will you keep silent and punish us beyond measure?12Will you restrain yourself at these things, O LORD? Will you keep silent, and afflict us so terribly?12Will You restrain Yourself at these things, O LORD? Will You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?12Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?12 LORD, after all this, will You restrain Yourself? Will You keep silent and afflict severely?"
