1 Then the LORD said to Moses, The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, The LORD spoke further to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses:
2 “Make two trumpets of hammered silver to be used for calling the congregation and for having the camps set out. “Make two silver trumpets. Of hammered work you shall make them, and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for breaking camp. Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. “Make yourself two trumpets of silver, you shall make them of hammered work; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and breaking camp. “Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.
3 When both are sounded, the whole congregation is to assemble before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. And when both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. Now when both are blown, all the congregation shall meet you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
4 But if only one is sounded, then the leaders, the heads of the clans of Israel, are to gather before you. But if they blow only one, then the chiefs, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. And if they blow <i>but</i> with one <i>trumpet</i>, then the princes, <i>which are</i> heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. But if <i>only</i> one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall meet you. If only one is sounded, the leaders—the heads of the clans of Israel—are to assemble before you.
5 When you sound short blasts, the camps that lie on the east side are to set out. When you blow an alarm, the camps that are on the east side shall set out. When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. And when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out. When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out.
6 When you sound the short blasts a second time, the camps that lie on the south side are to set out. The blasts are to signal them to set out. And when you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out. When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. Then when you sound an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be sounded for them to break camp. At the sounding of a second blast, the camps on the south are to set out. The blast will be the signal for setting out.
7 To convene the assembly, you are to sound long blasts, not short ones. But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow a long blast, but you shall not sound an alarm. But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow <i>the trumpets</i> without sounding an alarm. To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the signal for setting out.
8 The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to sound the trumpets. This shall be a permanent statute for you and the generations to come. And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. The trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations. And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. The sons of Aaron, moreover, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and <i>this</i> shall be a permanent statute for you throughout your generations. “The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.
9 When you enter into battle in your land against an adversary who attacks you, sound short blasts on the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God and saved from your enemies. And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. And when you go to war in your land against the enemy who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you will be thought of by the LORD your God, and be saved from your enemies. When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies.
10 And on your joyous occasions, your appointed feasts, and the beginning of each month, you are to blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to serve as a reminder for you before your God. I am the LORD your God.” On the day of your gladness also, and at your appointed feasts and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. They shall be a reminder of you before your God: I am the LORD your God.” Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I <i>am</i> the LORD your God. 11 On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle of the Testimony, In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony, And it came to pass on the twentieth <i>day</i> of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony. 17 Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the Gershonites and the Merarites set out, transporting it. 28 This was the order of march for the Israelite divisions as they set out. This was the order of march of the people of Israel by their companies, when they set out. 29 Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of Moses’ father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said: ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.” And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do good to you, for the LORD has promised good to Israel.” And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel. Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out to the place of which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will do you good, for the LORD has promised good concerning Israel.” Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place about which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”
30 “I will not go,” Hobab replied. “Instead, I am going back to my own land and my own people.” But he said to him, “I will not go. I will depart to my own land and to my kindred.” And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred. But he said to him, “I will not come, but rather will go to my <i>own</i> land and relatives.” He answered, “No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people.”
31 “Please do not leave us,” Moses said, “since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can serve as our eyes. And he said, “Please do not leave us, for you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will serve as eyes for us. And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes. Then he said, “Please do not leave us, since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us. But Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.
32 If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us.” And if you do go with us, whatever good the LORD will do to us, the same will we do to you.” And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee. So it will be, if you go with us, that whatever good the LORD does for us, we will do for you.” If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us.”
33 So they set out on a three-day journey from the mountain of the LORD, with the ark of the covenant of the LORD traveling ahead of them for those three days to seek a resting place for them. And may Your enemies be scattered, And those who hate You flee from Your presence.” Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Rise up, LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you.”
36 And when it came to rest, he would say: “Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel.” And when it rested, he said, “Return, O LORD, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.” And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel. And when it came to rest, he said, “Return, LORD, <i>To</i> the myriad thousands of Israel.” Whenever it came to rest, he said, “Return, LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel.”
