He brought them out of darkness

God delivered those who had rebelled against Him and suffered in distress. Their darkness included the misery, confusion, and hopelessness produced by sin and judgment. He did not merely comfort them in their condition; He acted to remove them from it.

Verse 14. - He brought them out of dark ness and the shadow of death. Wherein they sat (ver. 10). And brake their bands in sunder. Freed them from their fetters (ver. 10), whatever they were.

Psalm 107:14 paints a complete deliverance—God personally pulls His people from spiritual darkness, rescues them from the looming terror of death, and shatters the bondage that once held them.
