(Polybius, Dionysius Halicarnassus, Plutarch, Lucian; generally with the genitive of the thing begun, as in Sir. 36:29 (); ; 1 Macc. 9:54. in Euripides, with the accusative, of beginning sacrificial rites; at length, to govern, rule, with the genitive Joshua 10:24 the Sept.)
