The weapons intended to protect the city would not overcome the judgment He had decreed. Ezk 39:3 Then I will strike the bow from your left hand… with which you are fighting the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian army was carrying out God’s announced judgment against Judah. Resistance to Babylon was ultimately resistance to the Lord’s declared purpose for that generation.
