Denunciation of Judgments

In Isaiah 30:9-11, he describes a rebellious people who reject true prophecy in favor of comforting illusions: "For this is a rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to obey the LORD’s instruction. They say to the seers, 'No more visions!' and to the prophets, 'Do not prophesy to us the truth. Speak to us pleasant words; prophesy illusions. Get out of the way; turn off the road. Rid us of the Holy One of Israel!'"

The prophet warns that such rejection of truth will lead to calamity and destruction, as God will not tolerate the perversion of His word. Isaiah 29:13-14 further highlights the consequences of following false teachings: "Therefore the Lord said: 'These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is but rules taught by men. Therefore I will again confound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, and the intelligence of the intelligent will be hidden.'"
