Matthew 25
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
1“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be compared to ten virgins; the same took their lamps and went to meet the groom and the bride. 2But five of them were wise and five were foolish. 3And those fools took their lamps, and did not take oil with them. 4But those wise ones took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5But when the groom delayed, all of them grew tired and slept. 6And in the middle of the night there was an outcry, “Behold, The groom has come, go out to meet him.” 7Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8The fools said to the wise, “Give us some of your oil, behold, our lamps have gone out.” 9But the wise answered and said, “Why? There is not enough for us and for you; go to those who sell and buy for yourselves.” 10And when they went to buy, the groom came and those who were ready entered with him into the wedding place, and the door was barred. 11But afterward, those other virgins came and they were saying, “Our Lord, Our Lord, open to us.” 12But he answered and said to them, 'Amen, I say to you, that I do not know you.' 13Wake up therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

14Like the man who journeyed and called his servants and delivered to them his property. 15To one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, each man according to his power, and he immediately went abroad. 16But he who received five talents went and traded them and gained five others. 17So also he of the two gained two others. 18But he who received one went and dug in the ground and buried the money of his lord.

19After much time, the lord of the servants came and took an account of them. 20And he called him who had received five talents and brought five others, and he said, “My lord, you gave me five talents behold, I have gained five other talents on top of them.” 21His master said to him, ''Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I shall set you over much; enter the joy of your Lord.'

22And he of his two talents came and he said, “My lord, you gave me two talents, behold, I have gained two other talents on top of them.” 23His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I shall set you over much; enter the joy of your Lord.”

24He also who had received one talent came, and he said, “My lord, I had known you that you are a hard man, and that you reap where you have not sown and that you gather from where you have not threshed, 25And I was afraid, and I went and buried your talent in the ground. Behold, it is yours.”

26His master answered and said to him, “You evil and lazy servant; you knew that I reaped where I had not sown, and I gathered from where I have not threshed. 27And it was incumbent upon you to cast my money to the exchange, so that when I would come, I could require my own with its interest. 28Take therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.”

29For to the one who has it, it shall be given, and it will be increased to him. But whoever does not have it, that which he has will be taken from him. 30And they cast the worthless servant into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing teeth.

31But whenever The Son of Man comes in his glory and all his Holy Angels with him, then he will sit upon the throne of his glory. 32And all the nations will be assembled before him and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd who separates sheep from goats. 33And he will place the sheep at his right and the goats at his left.

34Then The King will say to those who are at his right, 'Come, blessed ones of my Father, inherit the Kingdom that was prepared for you from the foundation of the universe.' 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, and I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. 36I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you came to me.' 37Then the righteous will say to him, 'Our Lord, When did we see you that you were hungry and we fed you, or that you were thirsty and we gave you drink? 38And when did we see you, that you were a stranger and we took you in, or that you were naked and we clothed you?' 39'And when did we see you sick or in a prison, and we came to you?' 40And The King answers and says to them, 'Amen, I say to you, as much as you have done to one of these my little brothers, you have done that to me.'

41Then he will say also to those who are at his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed ones, into eternal fire, that which was prepared for The Devil and for his Angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink. 43I was a stranger and you did not take me in; I was naked, and you did not clothe me. I was sick, and in prison and you did not take care of me.' 44And those will answer, and they will say, 'Our Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we did not minister to you?' 45Then he will answer and he will say to them, 'Amen, I say to you, as much as you have not done to one of these little ones, neither have you done that to me.' 46And these will go into eternal torture, and the righteous into eternal life.”
