Psalm 80
Berean Literal Bible Par ▾

Hear Us, O Shepherd of Israel

1For the one directing. According to “Lilies.” A Testimony. Of Asaph. A Psalm.

1 O Shepherd of Israel, Give ear!

The One leading Joseph as a flock,

dwelling above the cherubim,

shine forth 2before the face of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh!

Rouse Your strength,

and come to bring salvation for us!

3O God, restore us,

and cause Your face to shine,

and we shall be saved!

4O YHWH, God of Hosts,

until when will You smolder

at the prayer of Your people?

5You have fed them the bread of tears,

and caused them to drink with tears a third part.

6You have made us a strife to our neighbors,

and our enemies mock at it.

7O God of Hosts, restore us,

and cause Your face to shine,

and we shall be saved!

8A vine from Egypt You pulled out;

You drove out the nations and planted her.

9You cleared before her face and let her root take root,

and she filled the land.

10The hills were covered with her shade,

and the mighty cedars with her branches.

11She sent out her branches to the Sea,

and her shoots to the River.

12Why have You broken down her walls,

and all passing by the way pluck her fruit?

13The boar from the forest tears at her,

and the wild beast of the field feeds on her.

14O God of Hosts, return, we pray!

Look down from the heavens and see,

and attend to this vine,

15and the root that Your right hand has planted,

and the son You have made strong for Yourself,

16having been burned in the fire, having been cut down.

May they perish at the rebuke of Your face!

17Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand,

upon the son of man You made strong for Yourself.

18Then we will not turn back from You;

revive us, and we will call on Your name.

19O YHWH, God of Hosts, restore us!

Cause Your face to shine,

and we shall be saved!
