Let the Earth Rejoice

1YHWH reigns, let the earth rejoice,

let the many shores be glad!

2Cloud and darkness surround Him;

righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

3A fire goes out before His face,

and burns up His adversaries round about.

4His lightnings give light to the world;

the earth sees, and trembles.

5The mountains are melted like wax

from before the face of YHWH,

from before the face of the Lord of all the earth.

6The heavens declare His righteousness,

and all the peoples see His glory.

7Let all those serving a carved image be put to shame,

those boasting in idols!

Bow down to Him, all gods!

8Zion hears and is glad;

the daughters of Judah rejoice,

because of Your judgments, O YHWH.

9For You, O YHWH-Elyon,† are over all the earth;

greatly are You exalted over all gods.

10O lovers of YHWH, hate evil;

He preserves the souls of His holy ones;

from the hand of the wicked He delivers them.

11Light shines on the righteous,†

and gladness for the upright of heart.

12Be glad, O righteous ones, in YHWH,

and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness!
