Hosea 11:2
Good News Translation
But the more I called to him, the more he turned away from me. My people sacrificed to Baal; they burned incense to idols.

The more I called them, the more they went from me; they kept sacrificing to the Baals, and offering incense to idols.

But as the saying goes, "The more they were called, the more they rebelled." They never stopped offering incense and sacrifices to the idols of Baal.
