this is the word that the LORD has spoken against him: 'The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises you and mocks you; the Daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head behind you.
You are to speak this word to them: "My eyes overflow with tears; day and night they do not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people has been shattered by a crushing blow, a severely grievous wound.
Therefore, this is what the LORD says: "Inquire among the nations: Who has ever heard things like these? Virgin Israel has done a most terrible thing.
Again I will build you, and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out in joyful dancing.
What can I say for you? To what can I compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? To what can I liken you, that I may console you, O virgin Daughter of Zion? For your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can ever heal you?
2 Kings 15:29

2 Kings 17:16
They abandoned all the commandments of the LORD their God and made for themselves two cast idols of calves and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the host of heaven and served Baal.
For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen because they spoke and acted against the LORD, defying His glorious presence.
Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled by your iniquity.
Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons for the iniquity of their fathers. They will never rise up to possess a land or cover the earth with their cities.

Disaster after disaster is proclaimed, for the whole land is laid waste. My tents are destroyed in an instant, my curtains in a moment.

"In that day I will restore the fallen tent of David. I will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old,
Isaiah 51:17, 18
Awaken, awaken! Rise up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the LORD the cup of His fury; you who have drained the goblet to the dregs, the cup that makes men stagger. . . .
say to a tree, 'You are my father, ' and to a stone, 'You gave birth to me.' For they have turned their backs to Me and not their faces, yet in the time of trouble they beg, 'Rise up and save us!'
For this is what the LORD says: "Your injury is incurable; your wound is grievous. . . .
For these things I weep; my eyes flow with tears. For there is no one nearby to comfort me, no one to revive my soul. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed. . . .
Ezekiel 16:36, 37
This is what the Lord GOD says: 'Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers and with all your detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them, . . .
After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.
