The warriors of Babylon have stopped fighting; they sit in their strongholds. Their strength is exhausted; they have become like women. Babylon's homes have been set ablaze, the bars of her gates are broken.

This is what the LORD says to Cyrus His anointed, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him, to disarm kings, to open the doors before him, so that the gates will not be shut:
"I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.
Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. There will be no coals to warm them or fire to sit beside.
Raise a war cry against her on every side! She has thrown up her hands in surrender; her towers have fallen; her walls are torn down. Since this is the vengeance of the LORD, take out your vengeance upon her; as she has done, do the same to her.
A sword is against her diviners, and they will become fools. A sword is against her warriors, and they will be filled with terror.
A sword is against her horses and chariots and against all the foreigners in her midst, and they will become like women. A sword is against her treasuries, and they will be plundered.
Her gates have sunk into the ground; He has destroyed and shattered their bars. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and even her prophets find no vision from the LORD.
I will break down the gates of Damascus and cut off the ruler of the Valley of Aven and him who wields the scepter from Beth-eden. The people of Aram will be exiled to Kir," says the LORD.
Behold, your troops are like your women; the gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire consumes their bars.
