You admonished them to turn back to Your law, but they were arrogant and disobeyed Your commandments. They sinned against Your ordinances, by which a man will live if he practices them. They stubbornly shrugged their shoulders; they stiffened their necks and would not obey.

And the LORD spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they did not listen.
You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the people of his land, for You knew that they had acted with arrogance against our fathers. You made a name for Yourself that endures to this day.
But they and our fathers became arrogant and stiff-necked and did not obey Your commandments.
But they were disobedient and rebelled against You; they flung Your law behind their backs. They killed Your prophets who had admonished them to turn back to You. They committed terrible blasphemies.
Yet You were patient with them for many years, and Your Spirit admonished them through Your prophets, but they would not listen; so You gave them into the hands of the people of the land.
In those days I saw people in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath and bringing in grain and loading it on donkeys, along with wine, grapes, and figs. All kinds of goods were being brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. So I warned them against selling food on that day.
"Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel: 'I am about to bring on this city and on all the villages around it every disaster I have pronounced against them, because they have stiffened their necks so as not to heed My words.'"
The LORD has told you, O remnant of Judah, 'Do not go to Egypt.' Know for sure that I have warned you today!
But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder; they stopped up their ears from hearing.
