Proverbs 26:25 Parallel
CommentaryProverbs 26:25 Parallel Commentaries
Do not drag me away with the wicked--with those who do evil--those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.
They are always thinking about how much it costs. "Eat and drink," they say, but they don't mean it.
Smooth words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a clay pot.
"Beware of your neighbor! Don't even trust your brother! For brother takes advantage of brother, and friend slanders friend.
For their tongues shoot lies like poisoned arrows. They speak friendly words to their neighbors while scheming in their heart to kill them.
Even your brothers, members of your own family, have turned against you. They plot and raise complaints against you. Do not trust them, no matter how pleasantly they speak.
