BSB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleInternational Standard Version
When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,1When Israel came out of Egypt— the household of Jacob from a people of foreign speech—
Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.2Judah became his sanctuary and Israel his place of dominion.
The sea observed and fled; the Jordan turned back;3The sea saw this and fled, the Jordan River ran backwards,
the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.4the mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.
Why was it, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,5What happened to you, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you ran backwards?
O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?6Mountains, that you skipped like rams? and you hills, that you skipped like lambs?
Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,7Tremble then, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
who turned the rock into a pool, the flint into a fountain of water!8who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flinty rock into flowing springs.
