Psalm 45
BSB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleInternational Standard Version
For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Lilies.” A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A love song. My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.1My heart is overflowing with good news; I speak what I have composed to the king; my tongue is like the pen of an articulate scribe.
You are the most handsome of men; grace has anointed your lips, since God has blessed you forever.2You are the most handsome of Adam's descendants; grace has anointed your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.
Strap your sword at your side, O mighty warrior; appear in your majesty and splendor.3Strap your sword to your side, mighty warrior, along with your honor and majesty.
In your splendor ride forth in victory on behalf of truth and humility and justice; may your right hand show your awesome deeds.4In your majesty ride forth for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; and your strong right hand will teach you awesome things.
Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s foes; the nations fall beneath your feet.5Your arrows are sharpened to penetrate the hearts of the king's enemies. People will fall under you.
Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.6Your throne, God, exists forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you above your companions with the oil of joy.7You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.
All your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces of ivory the harps make you glad.8All your clothes are scented with myrrh, aloes, and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.
The daughters of kings are among your honored women; the queen stands at your right hand, adorned with the gold of Ophir.9The king's daughters are among your honorable women; the queen, dressed in gold from Ophir, has taken her place at your right hand."
Listen, O daughter! Consider and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house,10Listen, daughter! Consider and pay attention. Forget your people and your father's house,
and the king will desire your beauty; bow to him, for he is your lord.11and the king will greatly desire your beauty. Because he is your lord, you should bow in respect before him.
The Daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; men of wealth will seek your favor.12The daughter of Tyre will come with a wedding gift; wealthy people will entreat your favor.
All glorious is the princess in her chamber; her gown is embroidered with gold.13In her chamber, the king's daughter is glorious; her clothing is embroidered with gold thread.
In colorful garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions are brought before you.14In embroidered garments she is presented to the king. Her virgin companions who follow her train will be presented to you.
They are led in with joy and gladness; they enter the palace of the king.15Filled with joy and gladness, they are presented when they enter the king's palace.
Your sons will succeed your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land.16Your sons will take the place of your ancestors, and you will set them up as princes in all the earth.
I will commemorate your name through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you forever and ever.17From generation to generation, I will cause your name to be remembered. Therefore people will thank you forever and ever.
