Psalm 58
BSB Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
1For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David. Do you indeed speak justly, O rulers? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?1For the choir director; set to Al-tashheth. A Mikhtam of David. Do you indeed speak righteousness, O gods? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?
2No, in your hearts you devise injustice; with your hands you mete out violence on the earth.2No, in heart you work unrighteousness; On earth you weigh out the violence of your hands.
3The wicked are estranged from the womb; the liars go astray from birth.3The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.
4Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like a cobra that shuts its ears,4They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,
5refusing to hear the tune of the charmer who skillfully weaves his spell.5So that it does not hear the voice of charmers, Or a skillful caster of spells.
6O God, shatter their teeth in their mouths; O LORD, tear out the fangs of the lions.6O God, shatter their teeth in their mouth; Break out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD.
7May they vanish like water that runs off; when they draw the bow, may their arrows be blunted.7Let them flow away like water that runs off; When he aims his arrows, let them be as headless shafts.
8Like a slug that dissolves in its slime, like a woman’s stillborn child, may they never see the sun.8Let them be as a snail which melts away as it goes along, Like the miscarriages of a woman which never see the sun.
9Before your pots can feel the burning thorns—whether green or dry—He will sweep them away.9Before your pots can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.
10The righteous will rejoice when they see they are avenged; they will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.10The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11Then men will say, “There is surely a reward for the righteous! There is surely a God who judges the earth!”11And men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on earth!"
