Berean Study BibleNET Bible
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.1In you, O LORD, I have taken shelter! Never let me be humiliated!
In Your justice, rescue and deliver me; incline Your ear and save me.2Vindicate me by rescuing me! Listen to me! Deliver me!
Be my rock of refuge, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.3Be my protector and refuge, a stronghold where I can be safe! For you are my high ridge and my stronghold.
Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and ruthless.4My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the hand of the cruel oppressor!
For You are my hope, O Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.5For you give me confidence, O Lord; O LORD, I have trusted in you since I was young.
I have leaned on You since birth; You pulled me from my mother’s womb. My praise is always for You.6I have leaned on you since birth; you pulled me from my mother's womb. I praise you continually.
I have become a portent to many, but You are my strong refuge.7Many are appalled when they see me, but you are my secure shelter.
My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your splendor all day long.8I praise you constantly and speak of your splendor all day long.
Do not discard me in my old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails.9Do not reject me in my old age! When my strength fails, do not abandon me!
For my enemies speak against me, and those who lie in wait for my life conspire,10For my enemies talk about me; those waiting for a chance to kill me plot my demise.
saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.”11They say, "God has abandoned him. Run and seize him, for there is no one who will rescue him!"
Be not far from me, O God. Hurry, O my God, to help me.12O God, do not remain far away from me! My God, hurry and help me!
May the accusers of my soul be ashamed and consumed; may those who seek my harm be covered with scorn and disgrace.13May my accusers be humiliated and defeated! May those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace!
But I will always hope and will praise You more and more.14As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you.
My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure.15I will tell about your justice, and all day long proclaim your salvation, though I cannot fathom its full extent.
I will enter in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim Your righteousness—Yours alone.16I will come and tell about the mighty acts of the sovereign LORD. I will proclaim your justice--yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, and to this day I proclaim Your marvelous deeds.17O God, you have taught me since I was young, and I am still declaring your amazing deeds.
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, until I proclaim Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come.18Even when I am old and gray, O God, do not abandon me, until I tell the next generation about your strength, and those coming after me about your power.
Your righteousness reaches to the heavens, O God, You who have done great things. Who, O God, is like You?19Your justice, O God, extends to the skies above; you have done great things. O God, who can compare to you?
Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up.20Though you have allowed me to experience much trouble and distress, revive me once again! Bring me up once again from the depths of the earth!
You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.21Raise me to a position of great honor! Turn and comfort me!
So I will praise You with the harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22I will express my thanks to you with a stringed instrument, praising your faithfulness, O my God! I will sing praises to you accompanied by a harp, O Holy One of Israel!
When I sing praise to You my lips will shout for joy, along with my soul, which You have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy! Yes, I will sing your praises! I will praise you when you rescue me!
My tongue will indeed proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my harm are disgraced and confounded.24All day long my tongue will also tell about your justice, for those who want to harm me will be embarrassed and ashamed.
