Berean Study BibleNew International Version
A Psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom. O LORD, how my foes have increased! How many rise up against me!1A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
Many say of me, “God will not deliver him.” Selah2Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."
But You, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
To the LORD I cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy mountain. Selah4I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the LORD sustains me.5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
I will not fear the myriads set against me on every side.6I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.7Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
Salvation belongs to the LORD; may Your blessing be on Your people. Selah8From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
